Lubomyr Melnyk's latest release, and his latest creation: He describes the music as a Film For The Mind " ... it is highly unusual work, where the Right Hand keeps an endless stream of patterned tones, while the Left Hand sails like a ship on the sea , through Harmonic cadences spread over two octaves .... it is a sombre and though-provoking piece.
Dedicated to the heroic Ukrainian soldiers who held out against the enormous Russian army for several weeks in the Azov Steel Plant of Mariupol.... it is a spiritual journey into the soul of man... into the Beautiful Depths of our spiritual strength.
One side (Side Studio) is the ANALOG Hi Fi recording made when Lubomyr had just
created this piece in the recording hall .... and Side Two (Side Live) is the same piece, with some changes, recorded just 3 days later in live concert.

Latvian vibraphonist's Miķelis Dzenuška debut album on Jersika Records together with his seven-piece band Uzvaras Bulvāris.
The concept and musical material of the album was created in 2021, at the height of the pandemic. Inspired by the analog recording style of "Jersika Records", the compositions of the album were also created "analogously" - using a piano, sheet music and a pencil. The idea of the album is to write "Latvian jazz standards" - clear, understandable and easy to remember themes. The music also has a programmatic character - the names of the pieces indicate the content of the piece ("Traffic Junction", "Dance of Sparrows", "Ice Flower", etc.). In the form and content of the compositions, there are references to the works of American jazz greats - Miles Davis ("Relaxin' with the Miles Davis Quintet", "Bitches Brew"), Wayne Shorter ("Night Dreamer"), The Brecker Brothers ("The Brecker Bros'" ) as well as Latvian jazz greats Gunārs Rozenbergs ("Laura") and Egīls Straume ("Fiesta").
Recorded live direct to analog tape using a Studer A80 1/4” two-track tape recorder without any editing or overdubbing.

Janis Rungis is one of the brightest jazz and free improvisation musicians of his generation in Latvia. His solo album YGGDRASIL was recorded during a live session in Nurme's church. The musical mood of the recording is created by the synthesis of the church's organ, guitars, a Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Clavisimbalum, and various loop effects. It is music, where the artist's personal message is of utmost importance, while the acoustics of the Nurme church is one more instrument, which the artist uses to create his sound. "Less is more" is the motto for this recording. YGGDRASIL fits perfectly within Jersika Records' catalogue of experimental music and enriches the European free improvisation scene with it's original sound.
